My birthday is later this week - and it usually turns into a week long celebration, meeting with friends and family, and this year, a special treat, some of my best 'girlie-pies' (Kari, Michelle and Cassondra) will be here visiting me at the weeks end for a nice long weekend.
I decided this year, to make a little Birthday Card Journal to capture all the celebrations and fun of my birthday, and wanted to show you what I did. Mike signed this adorable greeting card for me, and I decided to use it for the base of my journal.
I made just one signature filled with a small paper bag, a part of photo sleeve, watercolor paper and some moleskine pages - and stitched it into the card using some waxed thread (I used a paper piercer to make the holes before stitching). It made a great little journal - I added some kraft starburst stickers over where the wax thread was showing on the outside, added a vintage gold dennison label with the year and - viola! - a Birthday Card Journal was born, one which I plan to document all things birthday related for the next week. Here are some photos to show you how it looks now:
My other dear friend Andrea and I both have birthdays this month, so we exchanged gifts while I was visiting her last week, so that is the first thing I had to document in my Birthday Card Journal (it still needs some work though).
I plan to share it with you as I fill it up... so check back soon to see. I hope it fills up as nicely as I envision.
