My husband and I have both been sick with bad colds this last week and I have turned to my iPad a lot during this time. I have been using it to watch movies in bed, play games and keep in touch with the outside world. I also was able to journal with it!
I recently stumbled upon 'iPad Notes' by Ahhh Design. These notes are .jpg templates you can download and use on your iPad in apps such as Upad and Noteshelf (those are the two recommended with the downloads). I already own a stylus (remember the fun I shared with you HERE?), so I downloaded the weekly layout template and started playing...
The week before last was a busy one, and I had a few photos on my phone from it, so I decided to document it... here is what I came up with:

Here are the apps I used to create this spread:
Upad: to piece the entire spread together. This was my first time using this app and I liked it, though, I am not sure if I am missing something or if it you are unable to export files I was missing something - under settings is a plethora of export options. I also wish it let me rotate typed text. But overall I was pleased with it.
Instagram: to create the muted square photos with frames. I do not always want to post them to the instagram community though, so I set my iPhone to airplane mode so I am not connected to the internet or cellular service. This forces the instagram photos I create to fail when uploading to their site. Then it is easy to just delete them from instagram - but they are automatically saved in my camera roll so I have them to use elsewhere.
PhotoToaster: to crop the photo of my parents and the line of Owl City lyrics.
The Amazing Type-Writer: to create the old type writer effect for the lyrics.
LabelBox: to add the vintage look "mom and dad" label.
Don't worry, it will not replace my pen and paper journaling, I have been doing some of that recently as well. In fact, I will be posting my 2011 december daily pages in a couple of days, so stay tuned for that!

This is awesome! I've started a page in my notebook. I had noteshelf, so I'm using that and it does let you export, though I can't seem to tilt my photos like you did. Such a great idea, hope you're all better!

Thank you for great inspiration. I downloaded the Upad but somehow can't make my photos and text end up on top of the lovely background from Ahh Design. How did you do that? Your page is beautiful as ever.

Hi Ami, Thanks for the comment and kind words.
To use the template, you need to start a new file, and under the Select memo template to use dialog box, click the PHOTO button - this will allow you to choose any background you wish.
Hope this helps!
Happy creating,
Hope

I'm so glad I've resently found your blog and it's a frolic moment everytime I look at it. Loving the way you journal.
Have a fantastic weekend. :)

Luke 21:29-33 - He told them a story. "Look at a fig tree. Any tree for that matter. When the leaves begin to show, one look tells you that summer is right around the corner. The same here—when you see these things happen, you know God's kingdom is about here. Don't brush this off: I'm not just saying this for some future generation, but for this one, too—these things will happen. Sky and earth will wear out; my words won't wear out."

OMG!! You are too fabulous to provide this post on playing with your iPad! Hope, you've sparked something here big!
My family has been wanting to get me an iPad or a laptop for Christmas… Being the frugal mom I am, I was having a difficult time justifying either one. BUT NOW… hey, I’m all in!
You’ve just provided me with enough play value to indulge myself with an iPad. I think I may have found a new favorite toy!
